Elicia joined chambers as a tenant in July 2024, after successful completion of pupillage under the supervision of Tracey Hennessey, Head of Chambers, and Laura Baines. During pupillage and since joining chambers, Elicia regularly practices in all areas of family law including private and public children work and financial remedies.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Elicia gained a wealth of experience in all areas of immigration law working for the Home Office in a number of roles, most notably as a Presenting Officer, conducting over 2000 appeals on behalf of the Secretary of State for the Home Department at the First Tier Immigration Tribunal.
Elicia is committed to ensuring access to justice for all. Prior to coming to the Bar, Elicia volunteered at a number of pro bono legal organisations including Advocate, Support through Court, National Centre for Domestic Violence and Lawyers in the Soup Kitchen, where she was the director of the organisation overseeing the running of the weekly law clinic. Elicia has continued to build upon this strong foundation of pro bono work, by completing her pupil pledge with Advocate, through whom she regularly assists those without the financial means secure legal representation and advice on the legal issues they face.
Elicia has been commended as being a pragmatic and diligent advocate, who strives to obtain the best outcome for her clients. Her interpersonal skills have enabled her to efficiently negotiate with opponents and litigants in person, ensuring matters are handled with the due care and attention the often sensitive matters of family law require.
