NCDR A Different Approach : Interactive Seminar & afternoon Tea

NCDR A Different Approach : Interactive Seminar & afternoon Tea

Wednesday 25th February 2026 - From 2.00pm to 4.00pm

When a relationship breaks down, disputes over finances and arrangements for children can be difficult to manage. While court proceedings may be necessary in some cases, there are alternative ways to consider to resolve disagreements that can help couples reach an agreement more quickly and with less emotional strain, time and cost.

Changes to the Family Procedure Rules in April 2024 , including the pre-action protocol (which require parties to file open statements of their position on attempts to make use of non-court processes, with costs orders now being made for breach of these rules) have strengthened the courts’ ability to encourage separating couples to explore non-court dispute resolution (NCDR) and make sure that opportunities to settle matters have not been overlooked

But what does this mean in practice, and how does it work?

No18 Chambers & Sousa Law Solicitors are pleased to announce that we will be running an interactive introduction to NCDR on the 25th February 2026 from 14.00 – 16.00 (including an afternoon tea ). Catherine Sousa , Emma Sanders & Francis Payne will provide family law practitioners with a practical insight and overview of the latest developments in Non-Court Dispute Resolution (NCDR) strategies

The Aim will be to give a wider knowledge of the options open to them to include:

  • Negotiations and round table meetings
  • Early neutral evaluation and Private FDRs
  • All forms of mediation including supported mediation with solicitors
  • Mediation & Arbitration
  • Collaborative practice

Our NCDR Seminar and afternoon tea is aimed at those currently practicing all aspects of Family Law and those who are otherwise interested. We are planning on an informative and relaxed seminar at £30 per person (incl of VAT) for 2 hours’ CPD.
